Where you are heard, understood and supported
Welcome to our website. We are a community counselling organisation set up by a group of experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who have been offering counselling in Sutton and the surrounding area (Morden, Cheam, Banstead, Wallington, Epsom and Ewell) for many years. We seek to provide affordable, accessible therapy for adults (18+) of all identities, genders and cultural backgrounds. In a safe, supportive, and confidential space, we help you explore your thoughts and feelings, support you through life’s challenges, and empower you to make positive changes.
We offer the following options:
Individual Therapy: For those experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or personal challenges. We offer weekly appointments in our serene and comfortable counselling rooms in Central Sutton.
Online Therapy: Secure virtual sessions for those who prefer therapy from home.
Group Therapy: Benefit from shared experiences in a supportive group setting.
Psychodynamic counselling is a type of talking therapy aimed at addressing longstanding difficulties or recurring experiences of psychological distress. It involves reflecting on your problems within the broader context of your life and seeks to uncover connections between past and present experiences. A crucial aspect of this approach is the use of the relationship that develops between you and your counsellor. Together, you explore the issues that led you to seek therapy, which assists you in moving forward. It provides a safe environment to discuss emotions and thoughts that you may have previously found hard to express, as well as to examine what may have triggered them.
Problems are often complex, and counselling does not offer instant solutions. Instead, it is a process of gradually gaining insight into your feelings and how you perceive yourself and others. The therapist concentrates on what occurs between you during the session, along with your external relationships and personal history.
You bring whatever is on your mind: thoughts, feelings, memories or dreams. Together, you and your counsellor reflect on whatever comes up. The session is not an everyday conversation but. confidential space where you can speak freely with an experienced person who aims to understand and support you.
Psychodynamic counselling can help with deep-seated emotional and psychological issues. It is especially beneficial for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or recurring behaviour patterns that create significant challenges. You need to be willing to view yourself from a different perspective and consider how you might contribute to your problems, potentially without even realising it.
Sessions occur at the same time each week at our comfortable rooms in the Oru Centre, Sutton SM1. Sutton Station is a nine minute walk away and provides links to Wallington, Morden, Cheam, Epsom, Ewell and South London.
We seek to make counselling affordable to as many people as possible. Fees will be discussed when you meet one of our counsellors, but we are a not-for-profit organisation and we keep them as low as we can.
